On November 10, the College of ocean science and engineering held the fifth faculty (representative) conference of the college. Wang Weiyi, Secretary of the Party committee of the college, Shi Danda, deputy secretary of the Party committee and President of the college attended the meeting, and all faculty and staff attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Pan Yi, chairman of the trade union.
The meeting held two main topics: the general election of the trade union committee of the College of ocean science and engineering; Election of Representatives (hereinafter referred to as double representatives) to the 12th faculty and staff congress and the 15th trade union member congress of Shanghai Maritime University.
First, the general election of the trade union committee was held at the meeting. Secretary Wang Weiyi introduced the requirements for the general election of the trade union of the college, read out the list of candidates and introduced the basic information of the candidates. According to the procedure, all faculty members voted by secret ballot for the trade union members of the new college, and elected seven trade union members of the sixth trade union committee.
Then, the meeting held the election of school representatives. Secretary Wang Weiyi introduced the notice requirements for the election of school representatives, read out the list of candidates and introduced the basic information of the candidates. All the faculty and staff conducted secret ballot on the supplementary candidates of the school's double representatives, and elected the next double representatives.
Finally, Pan Yi, chairman of the trade union of the college, announced the election results to the conference. Secretary Wang Weiyi delivered a closing speech for the successful convening of the double Congress. He hoped that the new trade union committee and the double representatives would earnestly perform their duties, actively do practical things for the teaching staff, unite the people, offer suggestions and make due contributions to the high-quality development of the college around the 14th Five Year Plan under the leadership of the college Party committee.
