On April 22nd, Mr. Ding Yi, part-time teaching instructor of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering, gave special guidance on academic planning and postgraduate entrance examination for students majoring in environment. The theme was How to accumulate achievements in undergraduate study and lay a solid foundation for postgraduate study. Venue: Self-study Seminar area, Hall, 3rd Floor, College of Marine Science and Engineering. The main participants of this activity are: members of the Party branch of Marine Environment students, activists who join the Party in each grade of environment, and members of the Party and League co-construction and alliance League branch.
Mr. Ding first introduced the overall situation of postgraduate entrance examination and employment of environmental students in recent years. Mr. Ding said: Through extensive and in-depth communication with branch members, we know that everyone attaches great importance to the preparation for postgraduate entrance examination and internship interview opportunities. This year, students of Grade 20 also started the preparation for postgraduate entrance examination and internship plan earlier. Last month, I gave special guidance on resume making to students who are preparing for internship and employment. Today, I gave a special guidance lecture to students who are planning to take the postgraduate entrance examination.
First of all, Mr. Ding helped students systematically sort out the learning tasks and requirements of undergraduate and postgraduate stage, and established the important connection between the two learning stages: (1) The undergraduate stage should pay attention to the study of professional English, which laid the foundation for the study of postgraduate stage. As an important tool to carry out scientific research, English can help students master the important contents of professional literature, periodicals and books at home and abroad, and provide ideas and methods for solving some key scientific problems in the practical field. (2) Attach importance to the study of mathematics and computer technology during the undergraduate period, which lays an important foundation for the systematic mathematical analysis and statistics work during the postgraduate period. Computer skills and mathematical knowledge are essential to carry out basic and innovative research. Whether it is virtual simulation research or in-depth analysis of data obtained from experimental work, mathematics and computer knowledge are needed. (3) During the undergraduate period, I should actively participate in scientific innovation work, through which I can exercise my research ability, expand my professional vision, and learn the techniques and methods of experimental research, so as to accumulate scientific research achievements and lay a solid foundation for the smooth transformation of my role and faster adaptation to my postgraduate life.
The students said that they benefited a lot from participating in this exchange. They not only understood the main content and task requirements of postgraduate study and life, but also had a clearer understanding of how to plan their study in undergraduate study. Next, they will plan their current study in a more detailed and comprehensive way, and do a good job in the accumulation of achievements and knowledge reserve. To meet the future will open graduate school life.
