On the afternoon of June 28, the School of Ocean Science and Engineering held the first phase of Haiyun Book reading Party in the 510 conference room of Development Building. The reading party invited Zuo Biao, Professor emeritus of the School of Foreign Languages, Xie Lili, deputy director of the School of Customs and Work Committee, and the students of Haiyun Book Club to exchange and share their experiences.
At the reading sharing meeting, the two student representatives respectively shared their recent reading books, talked about their own reading perceptions, sometimes interpreted texts, sometimes expounded views, and sometimes talked about their experiences. They not only carefully took reading notes in reading, but also combined with their own learning and life situations, from different angles to talk about their harvest, sentiment and philosophy.
After listening to the two students reading and sharing, Zuo Lao said that he saw the students of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering attach importance to learning, thinking about life and suffering, and felt very happy, very gratifying, and very hopeful. Then, Zuo Lao expanded from these two books to talk about the importance of the width and length of life, and shared with the students his own practices to broaden the length and width of life in combination with his own circumstances. He vividly described how he seized a large number of fragmented time in learning English and reciting poetry and continued to use it for learning. In the ancient years, with a cross-border belief to carry out the research of traditional Chinese culture and modern management, in line with the needs of improving cultural soft power in the new era of China, Zuo Lao encouraged students to continue to study, continue to read, continue to develop their knowledge and skills, and strive to become shipping talents, and make positive contributions to the society.
Teacher Xie Lili fully affirmed the beneficial exploration of the school's Haiyun Book reading club. Through such a platform and opportunity, she can pass on the aspirations of the older generation of teachers, their perception of life and experience to the young students, so that the students can be inspired and help the students on their life path. I hope the students can learn the spirit of continuous learning. Seize learning opportunities and apply what you have learned in real life.
Grow up in reading, harvest in sharing, and inspire in communication. The students said that this reading club was very meaningful. They benefited a lot from listening to the wise and rich sharing of Zuo Lao, and actively exchanged and asked questions about Zuo Lao's articles.
Haiyun Bookish Reading Club is an active exploration by the College of Ocean Science and Engineering to further study and implement the spirit of the Party's 20 major, further enrich the connotation of the work of the College's Customs Work Committee, and give full play to the advantages and roles of the five old. By inviting some highly respected old professors and party members, through their sharing, excellent literary works can be discovered and shared. The will of the older generation will be passed from generation to generation, and young students will be helped to better Orient their lives, establish correct values and a sense of mission, and contribute their youth to the construction of a maritime power and a shipping power.
